A now fatherless princess soon to wed,
Her people, the wicked serpent's fodder,
Her childhood companion, he has bled,
At the altar, the serpent's stolen form
Wavers, enough for moonlight to spill,
And sweep her away from her kingdom torn,
Hidden safely on the highest hill.
